  1. After watching our dry dry run, I would say we did really well. I think we can work on not using our outlines too much (which will be solved once we do the notecards). It wasn’t engaging to watch when we were just looking at our screens. I think our energy was there too, it felt like a real talk show to me. I think we also had nice transitions from speaker to speaker, and it will look really nice once we have our final product. Once we all speak confidently, it will come across to the audience that we know what we are doing and just make more sense to the watcher. As for the tech/look/feel of it being a talk show, we will figure that out at our next meeting, which will be Tuesday since we do not have class (Group B). I think we have the basis of a really cohesive talk show, which is awesome!

  2. After reviewing the groups dry dry run video, I was overall pleased with the quality of our content. For a dry dry run – in comparison to previous speeches dry runs – this one was pretty put together script wise. We worked well off of each others questions and topics and I feel as though we were at a solid conversation pace. Personally, I feel as though I need to work on body language and eye contact a bit more. On a broader scale, I feel as though the speech felt also a bit too informal and conversation like but that will probably be improved upon once we are able to record and add the technical pieces that we could not do in person. Also, since our format is a panel, we could add more audience engagement pieces when we make it into an edited recording, this could give us more of an opportunity to set the stage and introduce the context of our panel. For the upcoming class, I am going to focus on maintaining a more present eye contact and for the following class period we can work on recording our pieces and getting into the technical part of the speech.

  3. After watching the dry dry run I can say i was confident of what I was talking about. Even though it was just me in it, i felt as if I could answer all the parts of the questions naturally without being uncomfortable of being up in the front of the class alone. In comparison to a lot of the other groups since they had 2 people with them they didn’t have so much pressure on them so figuring out how to show the class that I could do it just as much as they could was really helpful. I wouldn’t say the flow was to good in terms of the order we actually want our speech to be so we defiantly need to revise the outline after hearing it out loud you see that certain parts should be in different areas so once we do that it will be more helping and understanding. We also need to add our intro music backdrops and whatever else that will make it look better having all these supporting component’s will definitely make our speech stand out, and easily remembered.

  4. This was painful to watch, as all videos of myself speaking are. That being said, it was helpful to see how I presented myself because it gave me a sense of what I could improve upon. First, I was moving around a lot in my rolling chair while answering my questions. That’s an easy fix. Just stay still! I also could stand to make bullet points for myself instead of paragraph answers for each of the questions we are covering in our presentation. This would allow for better fluidity in my responses and it would give me some extra room to be creative in my answers. Thankfully, we have a lot of room for error when we actually go to record our clips outside of class. That’s the benefit of making a video, editing!

With regard to things that are working with our project so far, we can say a great deal about our organization. We are satisfied with the structure and content of our presentation, it’s just a matter of fine-tuning it to our liking when we record our final version. We will not have trouble with the rest of this process, at least I don’t think we will. Looking forward to using the media equipment I am borrowing from my other professor.

  5. After review our dry dry run I thought we did good. Still love out name “The Medicine Cabinet”. I think our layout is good is good by asking more vague questions that we can all answer prior to our major. With our questions it was easy for me (the host) to add in stuff about my major. Even with the specific question to each person I could still relate it to Athletic Training. I think we are have good projection and energy. I am excited for our game that we want to wait till the final really. I feel good on our script only doing small changes and adding of stuff to our prior script. Obviously adding in a nice intro and music, backdrop, having the game, and just being in the moment of a real talkshow we will have more energy.

  6. After rewatching our video I am excited to see how our final product comes out. This was just a really rough draft that we had not much prepared for, so when the time comes to actually put everything together I think our final could be good. I think something we can work on is organization and flow. Like I said we hadn’t really prepared too much for this dry run and so the way I go about asking and answering the questions could be better. We also have a secret to add in at the end which I’m glad that we didn’t include in our dry run. We decided that it would be better to leave some things out so that the surprise of it was not ruined. Overall I am happy with our dry run and I think that we definitely have a good start. We work well as a team so I think continuing to develop this project should be a breeze.

  7. After my group did our dry dry run I think we did pretty well. I am happy with how it went, I think our structure is really good how we have set a host and then we have two people who are being interviewed. With our wide range of majors, we are going to have so much content, almost too much content so we are going to have to find a way to funnel out the important information. As for our content itself, it was very good we talked for a good time but not too long, we did not talk about one question for too long and kept it a good time, we were around the six minute mark. One thing I hope to do for the dry run is to try to be a little more informal, I want to try and keep it more of a conversation rather than an interview.

  8. After watching the video I felt like we did good for our first time going through it. We can definitely be better when we don’t read off of our lines. I was definitely more comfortable not reading off of my lines when I was adding more because it felt like a natural talk show. We all were comfortable in our own way which you could tell makes it seem like a talk show but confidence could also make it go a long way when added. Definitely adding when we are not speaking expressions so it looks like we are talking to one another. Tuesday during class time my group will meet up and go over what we all think needs improvement and what we will be doing for the tech aspect of it.

  9. After doing and watching our dry dry run, I thought we did very well. Compared to my past speeches, I thought that this one was the most planned out and organized. It flowed well and I really liked the order of our questions. It felt a little too formal, and for the dry run I hope to not use our outline as much. If I talk without reading my paper, it will definitely sound better and feel more conversational and natural. Another thing I could work on is eye contact. Overall though, I felt very confident up there and it went very well. We talked for the perfect amount of time, and all of our content was there. I think when we film and edit the talk show, it will all come together.

  10. After watching Kasey’s dry-run since I was not there, she seemed confident even though she was by herself. We are still trying to figure out what order we want our questions to go in which will make it flow better. I am proud of Kasey doing it by herself since I was not there. She definitely portrayed how we want it to go and the set up of it all. I think we just need to practice and do all of the technical stuff before we present our final speech. I appreciate Kasey getting up to do it by herself and I think that when we do it together it will be a lot easier.

  11. After watching our dry-dry run video I think we seemed very confident in our speech. We chose a really awesome name, which I think fits the majors we all have and the tracks we all are going on. Our questions were very vague, for Khloe to ask, which gave us a better way to get into detail about our specific majors. I think our ability to work well off of each other and to be super cohesive and have chemistry is really important. Going forward editing the questions to give us more time to take up and create things that will be better to involve Khloe will be really important. Overall I am happy with how the dry dry run came out and am looking forward to the dry run and to create our final project.

  12. After doing the dry-dry run in class and then watching it back, I think Keigan, Syd, and I did a good job. Even though we misunderstood the assignment before class (we recorded a dry dry run thinking we would not do it in class), we still were fairly prepared to do a live recording during class. Next time the three of us meet, we definitely need to make a more refined script to help with flow of the conversation. All three of us are also conducting live interviews with other people as a supplement to our speech, so we need to do those as well. All in all, every thing is going well so far!

  13. After class and filming our dry run I feel as if our group is in good position for the upcoming weeks ahead. Despite mis-understanding the assignment we now feel more prepared then coming into. I think we just need a better layout and flow to our news cast. At points of our dry dry run we felt a little lost and confused. With a better layout we can have a more successful flow. We are a group that is really fun dynamic. We have great energy and are ready to work to make this as entertaining as we can. I think with these tweaks this will be a great outcome. We all are fairly busy and work hard to make time to meet out of class.

  14. After watching the dry-dry run I can definitely see things that need improvement and things that need to have more thought put into before the real thing. For example, in our dry-dry run, we had an outline, but it wasn’t well flourished/ well developed. We need to do a better job of expanding on ideas when something is important. We definitely need to get going with our interview process as well. We’ve made progress and we plan to update everyone in our dry-run. We now have a clear outline and feel good about where we are. It was helpful to look at the dry-dry run and realize that there are certain things that need improvement. Like we need to come up with more ideas surrounding how our majors connect with one another. We plan to polish everything and be good to go Friday, and then we’re excited to begin filming and editing as we head towards the final video.

  15. After watching the dry-dry run I have noticed a couple things that will work well and things that need improvements. The things the seem to work are the questions we will ask each other, keeping our talk show path with humor while adding an informational section. The audience found the informational section of the dry-dry run to be a great way to educate others. It is hard to know exactly how our plan to go back and forth between each other to ask questions because we were unable to do the dry-dry run together. Something I noticed we need to add to our speech is explaining what our majors are before asking our other questions. One thing that would help with the flow of our speech is to reorder our questions in a way that makes sense and will better transition from one question to another. Since we haven’t done an in-class run of this speech together, we are going to meet up before our dry run to go over how we want to ask the questions to each other as co-hosts of a talk show. After we do our dry run on Friday, we will use that recording and the feedback to help us film and edit our final video.

  16. After doing our first dry run and watching it back, i think our group did well for our first go at it. I saw a lot of things we did well but along with that i realized we could do a lot of things better. I know that i want to find a way to include myself more as the host and say why Im here and add my part of the presentation in so my work load will line up well with both Becca and Patrick. I would like to be comfortable enough while presenting to not have to read my paper or move around while we film our final run. But all in all i think we did a really good job with our dry run.

  17. After watching our dry-dry run, I think my group and I are in pretty good shape. To prepare, we made an outline of the script for our talk show; this included things like questions we are each going to be asked with the corresponding answers, games/bits we could include, background information, and general information about our selected majors and why we choose them. From our video, I liked how my group members and I interacted, to me it felt like a natural talk show. We mainly tried to keep things off script, as talk shows mainly are, but with the outline we can still follow to add a sense of coordination. We also tried to make the talk show humorous without making it seem like a joke, and I think my group did a great job with that. Some areas which I think we can improve on is limiting filler words, talking more to the interviewer (Maddie) rather than the audience, including more information about our major, and just making it seem more natural as a talk show. In the coming days before the final, we will meet a couple times to revise our script, practice speaking, and brainstorm different ideas we can add for the dry-run and final.

  18. I was not present for the dry dry run, however my partner used the audience to bounce ideas off of. Due to our unique circumstances and both having military experience, we wanted to capitalize on our situations and differing perspectives. The idea to make fun of our indecisiveness seemed to be a hit with the audience, while also providing information on the enlisted and officer side that can aid you in school. Our original idea to just come up with questions and word vomit all we could say allowed for a strong foundation and to mold the speech and structure into exactly what the intended purpose is. We decided to continue with our late night talk show idea, without interviewing other people or professors. We also wanted to keep our military aspect that’s kind of recruiting like, but also very personal to our own experiences. We plan to revise our outline to ensure it’s not too back-and-forth and that we remain on hitting the intended purpose of the speech. Due to our extensive history, we want to highlight our past and how we’ve gotten to where we are today. This continues to be a foreseeable issue by not staying on topic, by revising some of the questions and condensing them we will be able to reduce this friction point.

  19. After doing our dry run, I feel like we are very well prepared for the rest of this project. We are definitely going to have to focus on staying within the time limit. It should be better once we are actually recording and editing the video because there will be less moving around and fewer pauses. I think that our transitions will feel smoother once we’ve recorded. We can also have a stronger intro and conclusion, but I think it will be important to keep it straightforward and simple. I think that our structure for the outline is really strong, we get to cover everything about our majors because of the way did the panel. I think with more practice we will all speak very fluently and easily about our majors and I think we are on the right track.

  20. After watching our dry-dry run I think we have a good layout and outline as to how we want our talk show to come together and look. We came up with a name “The Medicine Cabinet” and have intro/outro music picked out as well as a logo for our talk show. We bounced off of each other nicely and kept the conversations casual. We will be adding in effects and stuff like laugh tracks as well which I feel will contribute well to the talk show feel. Our questions will be altered to be more personal for our final speech but for a very rough outline I think we are headed in the right direction.

  21. After watching back our dry-dry run video I thought we did great. We know where and what we are doing really well on and we know where and what we need to do better and improve on. I know I want to find a way to give my ideas and my part of the speech along with being the host and starting the conversation. I also know we need to find a way to have a wrap up and a conclusion. Wether it be a short message, a commercial break or a short game like other groups are doing. Im confident in my groups ability to fix our issues and make our video a lot stronger. Overall I think were doing great

  22. after watching our Dry dry run, we had a solid outline. I did think we needed to add a bit more info and work on what we want to fully say and our game idea. Overall it was a good start in my opinion.
